80ies week VII

Great music deserves a great final. This song is not just great music, it represents two things at once. On the one hand, there’s been a trend to cover classics from the 60ies – here the King himself – and on the other hand it’s been a decade of coming outs. While homosexuality played a big role in the 70ies disco music lifestyle, it was still under cover. The 80ies unleashed the  cloak of sexuality and evolved some great music.
